The Major Championships
Tiger Woods is famous for the amount of Major Championships that he has won throughout his career. The last of which being the U.S Open in 2008 which for Tiger Woods is a long time to go without winning a major championship.
But for Tiger Woods the 2008 victory at Torrey Pines will have to be one to savour as not only was he suffering from a knee problem which saw him miss the rest of the season but he had to take the event to a 5th day to win the championship. Woods after a collapse was trailing by one shot going down the last hole at Torrey Pines but forced a playoff through sheer will power by birding the last hole.
The playoff which had to take place over 18 holes of stroke play on the monday was a remarkable affair which saw Rocco Mediate miss a putt on the last hole to result in a sudden death playoff. But on the first hole it all become to much for Tiger Wood’s competitor Rocco Mediate as he got a bogey on the first extra hole to lose the championship. This was without doubt one of the best endings to a major championship ever with neither playing giving up lightly but it was to be Tiger Wood’s year taking his tally to 14 major championships.
The 2012 Major Championships will take place at:
