Tiger Woods won his first tournament since March and played some of his best golf at last weeks Memorial Tournament in Ohio.
Woods shot a 70, 69, 73 and 67 in his four rounds on the par 72 Muirfield Village Golf Course, meaning he finished on 9 under par, two shots clear of his nearest rivals Andres Romero and Rory Sabbatini. This win matches the 73 PGA Tour wins of Jack Nicklaus, and it was only fitting that Woods did this on a course designed by Nicklaus himself. The only man with more Tour victories than Woods now is Sam Snead, with 82.
In his final round, Woods said he hit just about every shot exactly how he wanted to, with the only exception being his second shot on the 10th that he hit into a bunker which led to a bogey. He missed only one fairway, and that was only by a couple inches into the first cut of rough. “I had it all today”, Woods said. “Whatever club I wanted to hit, I could hit. That was fun to have it when I needed it.”
Woods overcame a four-shot deficit going into the final round, and he was two shots behind with four holes to play in the final round. He managed to birdie the 15th and then produced something just short of magical on the par-3 16th. His tee shot bounced over the green and into a horrible spot with the ball nestled in the rough. The 50 feet to the hole looked impossible as if he hit it too short it would turn down a slope and leave a difficult two-putt bogey. Too strong, and it would race past the cup and into the water. With a full swing and a flop shot, the ball evaded all hazards and with just the right speed dropped in to the hole for a birdie!

Is this Tiger Woods best shot ever?
Wednesday, January 4th, 2012On a Sunday afternoon at Augusta Tiger Woods pulled his eight iron left of the green to leave himself a tricky chip across and down the green. He had a one shot lead over Chris DiMarco who had hit a great tee shot to 14ft. The ball was almost up against the rough but still had a tight lie on the well groomed Augusta turf to the left of the 16th Green.
With so much pressure and a large crowd looking on who would have guessed what was going to happen next on the 16th green at Augusta. Is this one of Tiger Woods best shot’s ever?
